With every player on the pitch being human-controlled, Strikers Club could be an interesting one for sports fans who like skill-based physics games.
Coming from developer Oddshot Games, who also made the ice hockey game Slapshot: Rebound that was released back in 2024. This football game will arrive July 17th in Early Access and be completely free to play. Speaking to GamingOnLinux via email, we’ve been told it will work on Linux as “Strikers Club does not use a client-side anti-cheat and is compatible with Proton”.
See the trailer below:
The tricks actually look really good here – so if you’re in need of a new sports game, this could be it. Especially nice that it will work with Proton while other popular games block Linux with anti-cheat.
From the press release:
Strikers Club is a free-to-play, physics-driven multiplayer football simulation playable on keyboard or controller. You can’t get away with button-mashing, every second and every move counts.
Dribble to move around the field, maintain control over your direction and speed, outplay opponents and set up shots, or pass to teammates to run a play. Use the camera to aim your shots, and chain skill moves to dodge defenders with flair. Prefer to anchor the back? Step into goalie mode and unlock a dedicated set of mechanics for keeping the goal line clear.
- Realistic Football Match Flow: Throw-ins, corner kicks, penalties, offside, fouls, and everything else you’d expect from a real football match.
- Competitive Multiplayer: Real people against real people, where success depends on your skills, expertise, and how well you collaborate with teammates.
- Custom Games: Challenge a rival to a serious 1v1 on a smaller field, or emulate real life in 11v11.
- Player Customization: Pick jerseys, shorts, gloves, shoes, and accessories to make your striker truly yours.
- Community Centre: Play together online in a no-pressure environment to practice your moves with minigames or socialize with other Strikers.
