Robot Rhapsody looks like a good one if you’re into pixel-styled JRPGs, a cyberpunk odyssey of techno-cults, rebels, & robotic bards. The developers said it will be fully compatible with Steam Deck (and so Steam Machine too) and likely any SteamOS / Linux system.
Coming from Rapturous Studio, who also made the Very Positive (Steam) rated Beloved Rapture released back in 2024.
What is it? A turn-based RPG following Selva, a retired mercenary; and a band of other survivors fighting back against AI-controlled “utopias”. Recruit machines to your side, upgrade with salvaged tech, & explore bizarre pockets of human resistance. Seems like an interesting one for the times.
Have a look at the trailer below:
Game Highlights:
- 20–30 hour main story. 10+ hours of side quests!
- A 100% human-made game.
- A JRPG-style story engaged with modern topics: AI, cults, dystopias, humanity, environmentalism, & art as rebellion.
- Turn-based combat with emphasis on challenge.
- HACK robot enemies to join your party. UPGRADE them with collected materials!
- Choose Story Mode, Classic Mode, or Expert Mode mode to match your preference.
- Nostalgic pixel art, painted by hand – with atmospheric maps, designed for environmental storytelling
- Cinematic “hybrid-rock-fusion” soundtrack, with our composer from Beloved Rapture returning.
It’s crowdfunding on Kickstarter with 25 days still to go and has been fully funded.
