Valve just updated Proton Experimental again bringing more fixes for running Windows games on SteamOS / Linux to get as many working as possible.
The what: Proton Experimental is like their testing ground for future stable numbered version Proton updates. You can install any version of Proton by just searching for “Proton” in your Steam Library. Check out the GamingOnLinux Guide to all the different Proton versions if you’re confused.

the changes for August 7th:
- Fixed Far Cry 5 showing old drivers warning with AMD GPUs.
- Fixed HDR not working properly in Far Cry 5.
- Fixed Steam authentication failure in Nightingale.
- Fixed garbled and flickering rendering in SYDE Rugby League Simulator.
- Fixed Proton 11 regressions:
- Lords of The Fallen is playable again.
- Forza Horizon 4 should no longer leak memory on first start on KDE Wayland.
- Command & Conquer: Generals, Command & Conquer: Renegade, Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath and Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars should detect custom Steam Workshop levels again.
