Rogue Carrier looks and sounds awesome – publisher Hooded Horse sure know how to pick ’em. I couldn’t wishlist this one fast enough.
So what exactly is it? They say it’s a colony management game with a roguelite twist. You’re stranded on an alien world on a huge seaborne ship as you need to gather resources, develop production chains, and explore a vast oceanic landscape – all before the planet itself kills you. You’ll also be managing crew morale, while defending against various types of alien threats.
As a roguelite, you’re expected to fail a few times as the planet steps up its attempts to destroy you, but you’ll take plenty of what you’ve learned into your next run to find five different endings and “fifty scenario variants” with various unique challenges.

From the press release:
“As a team, we haven’t worked with a publisher before, and so far our partnership with Hooded Horse has been a marvelous experience,” says Wild Fields CEO Daniel Poludyonny. “They’re a bit of a unicorn in the industry – focused on quality and detail in both the games they publish and their marketing and sales craft, but still just down-to-earth gamers at heart. The amount of support and empathy they’ve shown us has been incredible.”
“We’re honored to have Rogue Carrier as part of the portfolio,” said Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender. “The combination of building a colony with limited room and exploring a vast oceanic world that’s trying to kill you is really compelling, and I can’t wait to share it with players.”
Gimme. This sounds awesome. I need it.
