Valve say the Team Fortress 2 MvM update is still coming and they’re still working on it

After the usual silence we’ve come to expect from Valve on everything, they gave a short blog post on the upcoming MvM update for Team Fortress 2.

You be be forgiven for completely forgetting it was happening, as it was originally announced back in June 2025. The last they gave an official update was all the way back in September 2025, where they ended up receiving a lot more community content than they expected. It’s taking quite a long time to sift through it all – so it still might not be any time soon.

From the blog post:

“We wanted to give everyone an update on the update we already gave on the update we’re working on, and here it is: We’re still working on the MvM update.

It’s taking a lot longer to sort through the new content and changes than we’d originally anticipated, but we promise we’re making progress. Thanks for being patient!”

Team Fortress 2 - Linux

They’re probably a bit too busy with the Steam Machine updates and shipping, along with getting the Steam Frame in a state that’s actually ready enough to release. So we’ll get the MvM TF2 eventually…
